    Two Dietary Supplements Recalled


    Two food supplements are the subject of a voluntary recall by the Food and Drug Administration because they contained unapproved drugs.

    Nutracoastal Trading LLC is recalling both their STEAM and S-DROL dietary supplements.



    Romaine Lettuce Recalled For Possible Salmonella Contamination


    Tanimura & Antle, Inc. of Salinas, Calif. is voluntarily recalling one lot of romaine lettuce because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. No illnesses have been reported to date, and the company is working with the Food and Drug Administration to inform consumers of this recall.


    Gel-Filled Teethers Recalled By Manufacturer

    nubyrecallTeethers sold both at retail outlets and on the Internet under the product names of Nuby Gel Filled, Cottontails and Playschool have been recalled July 18 by manufacturer Luv N'Care and the Food and Drug Administration because of bacteria contamination.

    Pistachio Recall Expands To Include More Companies

    pistachiosThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to eat California Prime Produce and Orange County Orchards brands of pistachios repacked by Orca Distribution West Inc., Anaheim. Orca received and repacked pistachios recalled by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc., Terra Bella, the company involved in a product recall earlier this year.


    Nestle Cookie Dough Recalled Due To E Coli Scare

    nestledoughThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are warning consumers not to eat any varieties of prepackaged Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough due to the risk of contamination with E. coli O157:H7 (a bacterium that causes food borne illness).



    Zicam Products Recalled By FDA


    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today advised consumers to stop using three products marketed over-the-counter as cold remedies because they are associated with the loss of sense of smell, which could become permanent.

    The products are:
    --Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel
    --Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs
    --Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size (a discontinued product)


    Nutro Dry Cat Food Recalled For Mineral Imbal

    Nutro Products announced a voluntary recall of select varieties of Nutro Natural Choice Complete dry cat foods and Nutro Max Cat Dry Foods with “Best If Used By Dates” between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010. The cat food is being voluntarily recalled in the United States and ten additional countries.

    This recall is due to incorrect levels of zinc and potassium in our finished product resulting from a production error by a US-based premix supplier.

    Hydroxycut Products Recalled Due To Death, Liver Problem


    Customers using Hydroxycut products are being advised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to stop immediately because some of the products have been associated with serious liver injuries and one death and have been voluntarily recalled from the market.

    Egg Rolls, More Spices Added To Product Recall


    The recall of spices from Union International Food Company has widened to include pepper products sold under the “Lian How” and “Uncle Chen” labels as well as more than 50 sauces and oils produced at the Union City plant contaminated with salmonella.
