    All Simplicity, Some Graco Cribs Recalled For Safety Concerns

    Two crib recalls announced today

    Federal authorities recall all Simplicity full-size cribs

    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is announcing the recall of all Simplicity full-size cribs with tubular metal mattress-support frames. This recall includes fixed-side and drop-side cribs. These cribs pose a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment, strangulation, suffocation and fall hazards to infants and toddlers.

    FDA Warns Of More Faulty Defibrillators

    khts_recallsAbout 280,000 external defibrillators used worldwide in health care facilities, public places, or in the home may malfunction during attempts to rescue people in sudden cardiac arrest, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned today.

    Sudden cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. When this happens, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs, leading to death if not treated within minutes.

    Three Infant Deaths Prompt Major Recall Of Baby Slings


    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC), in cooperation with Infantino LLC, of San Diego, Calif. have announced a free replacement program for the Infantino "SlingRider" and "Wendy Bellissimo" infant slings.

    Bouillon Products Recalled


    Basic Food Flavors, Inc. ("Basic") has issued a recall for all Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein ("HVP") dry powder manufactured by Basic Food Flavors on or after September 17, 2009, due to a positive test result for Salmonella in a production lot. FDA records indicate that some of the HVP being recalled by Basic Food Flavors was used as an ingredient in HERB-OX® items.

    Granola Bars, Children's Lamps Recalled

    Trader Joe's is recalling their house brand Chocolate Chip Chewy Coated Granola Bars with use by dates and lot codes 16JUL10H2 and 17JUL10H1, as they may be contaminated with salmonella and cause a serious food-borne illness.


    Defibrillators Recalled Due To Malfunction

    khts_recallsCardiac Science Corporation is initiating a worldwide voluntary recall after determining that approximately 12,200 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) may not be able to deliver therapy during a resuscitation attempt, which may lead to serious adverse events or death. These AEDs were manufactured in a way that makes them potentially susceptible to failure under certain conditions. The FDA has been informed of this situation.


    Italian Sausage Products Recalled Due To Salmonella Contamination

    khts_recallsAbout 1.24 million pounds of Italian sausage products that were distributed nationwide, including to Los Angeles County, have been recalled as being potentially contaminated with Salmonella, the LA County Department of Public Health cautioned residents today.



    Wisconsin Cheeseman Recalls Cheese Logs And Cheese Balls

    khts_recallsThe Wisconsin Cheeseman® announced today that it is recalling cheese log/cheese ball products in conjunction with the voluntary recall initiated by Parkers Farm, Inc. on January 15, 2010.  Parkers Farm, Inc., located in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, believes some of its food items have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The recall was a result of a sampling done by the state of Wisconsin and the state of Minnesota.
