    Gerber Recalls One Batch Of Powdered Formula

    recallgerbergoodstartoneGerber Products Company is proactively retrieving and offering a replacement to consumers who purchased Gerber® Good Start® Gentle powdered infant formula 23.2 ounce plastic package from batch GXP1684 expiration date of March 5, 2013.

    The product poses no health or safety risk. However, this product might have an off-odor noticeable to some consumers. In some cases spit-up and other gastrointestinal complaints have been reported.

    USDA Sets Twitter Feeds For Food Safety Alerts In 11 States

    USDA_logoToday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) launched a series of Twitter feeds that will provide state-specific, food safety alerts to consumers.

    Followers of these Twitter accounts will receive alerts about recalls of meat, poultry and processed egg products in their state, as well as information on how to protect their food supply during severe weather events.

    RECALLMaltaGoyaThe Florida Brewery, Inc. is recalling certain lots of Goya, Great Value, Hatuey, Mr. Special, Polar, Publix, Regal, and SuperMax brand non-alcoholic malta beverages packaged in 7-oz bottles because glass on the exterior of the bottles may break when the twist-off cap is removed from the bottle and can result in cuts to the mouth.

    To date, the Company has received two reports of consumers experiencing cuts to the mouth.

    Beef, Pork Products Recalled Due To Lack Of Inspection

    Consumers: Do Not Eat Certain Jaggery Candies Imported From India

    jaggerycandyoneDr. Ron Chapman, director of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), has issued a warning for consumers not to eat two jaggery candies imported from India, after tests conducted by CDPH found that both exceed the federal guideline of lead.

    Those candies are Laxmi Brand Rewadi Jaggery and HB Brand Rewari Gur-Flat Jaggery. Consumers in possession of these candies should discard them immediately.

    Baked Goods, Enhancement Herbs Recalled


    Walmart recalled its eight-count packages of Cruller bakery pastries because the common name of milk was not listed following sodium caseinate, a milk derivative, on the ingredient label.

    People who have milk allergies that do not recognize sodium caseinate as a milk derivative run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.
