    On Thursday evening August 24th, Emil Hightower of Santa Clarita was named the 2006 Santa Clarita Pop Star.  Emil was voted on by the audience at the Santa Clarita Pop Star finale held at Panera Bread.  Emil will be performing this Saturday night as the opening act for the final City of Santa Clarita Concerts in the Park.

    Scott Wilk Selected As COC Trustee

    Scott Wilk was named as the new College of the Canyons Trustee after an extensive interview process.

    Wilk was selected from twenty-three applicants. The five seat board lost a member when Ron Gillis resigned recently. Wilk is District Director for United States Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon.

    Kings to Retire Luc Robitaille’s Jersey on January 20, 2007

    LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings will officially retire Luc Robitaille's jersey No. 20 in a special pre-game ceremony on January 20, 2007, when the Kings host the Phoenix Coyotes at STAPLES Center, the club announced today.  Robitaille will join Rogie Vachon, Marcel Dionne, Dave Taylor and Wayne Gretzky as the only Kings players to have their jersey retired, and Robitaille will also be inducted into the Kings Hall of Fame as part of the evening's festivities.
