    Sheriff’s to Conduct D.U.I. Checkpoint This Friday

    The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be conducting a D.U.I. Checkpoint on Friday 08-11-06 from 1900 hours through 0300 hours on Saturday morning. The goal of the checkpoint is to educate the community on the hazards of drunken driving while enforcing the D.U.I. laws of the State of California. The checkpoint is an ongoing attempt to safely remove drunken drivers from our streets. The location off the checkpoint will address concerns based on D.U.I. activity in that area.

    Dodgers Lose to Rockies 3-1

     

    The Dodgers lost in a nail-biter to the Rockies 3-1. They look for a rematch against the Rockies, and a possible chance to regain first place in the NL West on Thursday at 6:30. Tune into KHTS for all the action.

    The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society named Kerry Carmody, Administrator for Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Chair of its annual Light The Night(r) Walk, the Society's annual fundraising walks held nationwide in the fall to raise funds for cancer research and patient services. Last year the walk at Bridgeport Park raised over $50,000 for patient services and cancer research.
     

    Lane Closures for I-5 Carpool Lane Construction 8/7 – 8/10

    Caltrans will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:
