    Excelencia Awards Gala Spotlights Hispanic Students and Business

    Outstanding Hispanic High School Seniors and several businesses that support the local Hispanic community will be recognized at the Third Annual Excelencia Awards GALA, sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, on Sept. 8 at the Hyatt Valencia.

    Dodgers Lose 6-3

    Monday afternoon, the Dodgers lost 6-3 in game one of a three game series against the Brewers. Tune in to KHTS Tuesday at 4:30 when the Dodgers will face off against the Brewers in game two.

    Fire Burns 15 Acres Near Castaic

    A fire was reported Monday, around 12:00pm, near Castaic and south-bound along the 5 freeway. The fire was knocked down around 1:00pm and burned 15-20 acres. At this time it is unknown how the fire began.

    I-5 Lane Closures

    The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of the Golden

    State Freeway (I-5), as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or

    carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:


    ·     6 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane of northbound I-5 from State Route 210 to State Route 14

    Dodgers Lose to Rockies 12-5

    The Dodgers lost  to the Rockies 12-5 on Sunday afternoon. They look to regain some momentum against the Brewers on Monday at 10:30. Tune into KHTS for all the action.

    Cougars Drop Season Opener 29-23

    The College of the Canyons Cougars lost to the Chaffey Panthers, in their first game of the 2006 College Football season on Saturday night, 29-23. Our next COC Football broadcast will be on Saturday, September 16th, when the Cougars will host Ventura College at 6:30pm.

    Dodgers Win 14-5

    On Saturday night, the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies, 14-5. You can hear the final game of this three-game series, Sunday at 12:30pm on KHTS.

    Dodgers Beat Colorado 6-3

    The Los Angeles Dodgers won their sixth game in a row, beating the Colorado Rockies, 6-3.

    Hart Falls to St. Bonaventure 34-0

    On Friday night, the Hart Indians lost their season opener to St. Bonaventure, 34-0. Tune in next Friday night at 6:30pm, when you can hear the Canyon Cowboys host Notre Dame on AM-1220 KHTS.
