    Runner Passes Legislation to Streamline School Construction

    Bill to Speed Up School Construction Process Passes in
    Committee
    Sacramento - Today in the Senate Education Committee, Assemblywoman Sharon Runner (R-Antelope Valley) introduced and passed her legislation to help streamline the bureaucratic school construction process. "School construction is already bogged down in red tape," Runner said. "Anything we can do to cut down on unnecessary bureaucracy will help us build schools faster and put our children into classrooms sooner."
     

    Golden State Freeway (I-5) Lane Closure Near Gorman 6/22-6/23

    Slab replacement continues overnight
     
    Caltrans will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) from Gorman to Frazier Park as follows, in order to perform slab replacement work:
     
    Overnight from 10 p.m. Thursday, June 22 to 6 a.m. Friday, June 23:
     
    ·     Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Gorman Post Road to Frazier Mountain Park Road.  One northbound lane will remain open to motorists.
     
    ·    The northbound I-5 off-ramp at Frazier Mountain Park Road
     

    Dodgers Lose to Mariners 8-5

     

    Chad Billingsley made his debut as a starting pitcher in the majors, but would see his playing time limited to only five innings as the Dodgers lost to the Mariners 9-5 in interleague play. Dodger Manager Grady Little had to make pitching changes on two occasions, and the fate of L..A. was sealed by Seattle pinch-hitter Carl Everett hitting a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Dodgers have dropped five straight games and will seek revenge against the Mariners on Thursday at 6:30. Catch all the action on your hometown station, KHTS-AM 1220.

    Westbound State Route 138 Closure Continues June 21 - 23

    Closure is necessary in order to complete a temporary detour.

    Pearblossom and Llano – As part of the State Route 138 widening and improvement project, Caltrans will continue the temporary closure of westbound State Route 138 in Pearblossom and Llano from 146th Street East to 165th Street East – on Wednesday, June 21; Thursday, June 22; and Friday, June 23 -- from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

    This temporary closure is expected to be completed on Friday, June 23.
