    Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is the recipient of three 2007 HealthGrades Excellence AwardsTM for Stroke Care, Pulmonary Care and Gastrointestinal Care.  Earlier this year, Providence Holy Cross received the 2006/2007 HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Award for Women's Health.

    The second edition of “Stump The Politician” took place on October 24th at the KHTS Community Resource Station in the Valencia Town Center . The show, which aired live, let children from local elementary schools try to stump Assemblyman Keith Richman with the hardest questions they could come up with.

    Santa Clarita has the third largest Chamber of Commerce in the state of California and is on pace to move into second place this year.

    Monday morning, the Chamber met to discuss future membership drives, as well as to honor Carl Goldman and Sharon Bronson for their success in Chamber membership drives which have resulted in earning them the title of Godfather and Godmother. The meeting was held in the eerie surroundings of Molar Manor, a haunted house on Soledad Canyon Road.

    Free “Roundup” of Hazardous Waste Products Planned In SCV

    On Saturday, November 4th, the County of Los Angeles, partnered with The City of Santa Clarita will be collecting hazardous waste products free of charge.

    The Roundup will occur at College of the Canyons in the south parking lot and will accept such things as antifreeze, car batteries, used motor oil, paint and pesticides. Universal waste, including household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and electronic waste such as TVs and computers will also be accepted.

    Mayor Antonovich Presents Kitten for Adoption

    Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich presented Macy, a 12-week old female domestic shorthair, during the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2006.
    Since the beginning of Mayor Antonovich’s pet adoption program in December of 1995, every pet presented for adoption at the Board has successfully found a home.  If you are interested in adopting a pet from any one of the six Los Angeles County shelters, please call (562) 728-4644.
