    Family Concert Series With The Santa Clarita Symphony

    On Saturday night, the Kings fell to the Edmonton Oilers 4-3.  Tune in to KHTS on Thursday at 7:00pm, when the Kings will take on the Chicago Blackhawks.

    Providence Commends Health Care Proposal

    Arnold R. Schaffer, Chief Executive of Providence Health System Southern California Region, today commended Governor Arnold Schwarzenneger for his proposal to provide health care coverage for every Californian. “We share the Governor’s vision, and we applaud his leadership in advancing the debate with his proposal,” Schaffer said.

    Governor's Bond Order A Hit With Republicans

    Senate and Assembly Republican leaders commended Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for issuing an executive order calling for accountability over money raised by the state through the sale of bonds.

    “California has a spotted history when it comes to the efficient use of bond revenues,” Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman, of Tustin, said. 

    Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines, of Clovis, stated, “As we look forward, Republicans will demand that the infrastructure bonds are spent as the people intended, not on pork projects in lawmakers’ districts.” 

    City Best Place For Youth

    High School Basketball Scores

    In a game heard live on KHTS, the Hart Indians Boys Basketball team knocked off the Saugus Centurions, 70-58 on Friday night.  In other action, Valencia beat West Ranch 79-51 and Canyon beat Golden Valley 68-40.  Next Tuesday, Hart will take on Valencia beginning at 6:15pm on KHTS.

    COC Inducts Hall Of Famers

    Last night at the Knollwood Country Club, Cougar Athletics took center stage at a ceremony that installed three people into the history books at College of the Canyons.

    Former baseball coach Mike Gillespe, former baseball player Frank Sanchez and Dwight “Yogi” Luster, a trainer and equipment manager were the latest additions to the College of the Canyons Athletic Hall of Fame. 


    Alleged eBay Scammer Caught In Santa Clarita

    Sheriff’s Department officials have acted on a warrant issued by Santa Clarita Superior Court to arrest Ronald Walker, a man they believe is responsible for a series of eBay scams that duped six victims out of a total of $9,000.


    Allegedly, Walker listed items for sale in the popular auction site, and once they sold, collected payment but never shipped anything out.  The items include a Sony Camcorder, Louis Vuitton handbag, tickets to the 2006 Rose Bowl game and a 32” Television.


    I-5 Construction Updates

    The construction for the Magic Mountain Parkway / I-5 interchange improvements is progressing on schedule.  The general contractor, Security Paving Construction, is continuing the construction of the rectangular shaped storm drain box, which is located west of The Old Road.  To date, 1250 feet of the box culvert has been completed. The completion of the entire storm drain box and the outlet structure is expected fall 2007.
