    Elderly Abuse Response To Be Increased

    County Board of Supervisors approves extra funding for District Attorney.

    To address the increased reports of abuse and neglect of the elderly, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $180,000 State grants for the District Attorney’s Elder Abuse Unit to prevent and respond to such cases, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.


    “This action will enhance and improve our efforts to provide vital services to prevent and prosecute crimes against our Los Angeles County seniors,” said Supervisor Antonovich.  


    All Day Blood Drive Planned

    April 12th is your chance to give.  Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and The American Red Cross will team up for their second blood drive of the year on April12, 2007. The blood drive will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the HMNMH/COC Education Center in the hospital’s Pavilion, located at 23845 McBean Parkway in Valencia. Juice and cookies will be served to donors.

    The Body Of Gary Alziebler was found this afternoon off of Foothill Blvd.

    The Sheriff's Department cannot comment on the situation because they are conducting an investigation that includes the Homicide division.

    "Door Knock" Burglars Caught

    3 gang members arrested trying to pawn stolen property.

    The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is citing teamwork as a major reason they have three burglars in custody.


    Santa Clarita had suffered a string of burglaries that involved men knocking on doors of homes during the day. If someone answered the door, the suspects would ask for directions, or pretend to have approached the wrong house.


    If no one answered, then the suspects would know that the house is empty and would force entry.


    Kings Snap Winning Streak; Lose 4-2

    The Los Angeles Kings snapped a two game winning streak by falling to the Dallas Stars 4-2.
