Today we celebrate the life of Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President of the United States. He’s a man whose signature look and steady leadership during one of our nation’s most pivotal times makes him a legend un-paralleled.

He was born on this date in 1809, and came from a living situation that could be described as “meager” at best. He was the son of two farmers, who lost all their property in court cases when Abe was just a boy.

“The strategy announced by the City of Los Angeles to combat gangs turns a blind eye to the huge impact of illegal immigration,” said Antonovich.  “Twenty-five percent of inmates in our county jail system are self-declared foreign born inmates – more than half of them are deportable criminal aliens.

Cycle Showdown Makes For Good Competition.

ImageIt was cycle madness this afternoon at the Westfield Town Center, as KHTS and the City of Santa Clarita put on the Cycle Showdown. The race put athletes, city officials and media people on the seat of a stationary bike to see who can pedal further in 30 seconds.

    Play Golf With Legends

One of the main attractions of golf is that on occasion, perhaps with a perfectly struck drive or a long birdie putt, even a duffer can feel like a professional. The Pro-Am tournaments being conducted in conjunction with the AT&T Champions Classic at Valencia Country Club offer participants an opportunity to enjoy such a moment while in the company of a touring professional, and benefit the local community as well.

Castaic Parents Tired Of Being Shuffled Around

It seems like it’s the last straw for parents of High School students in Castaic. They have showed up in force at the Hart District Board meetings to protest the possible splitting up of their students because their current home, West Ranch High School, will not be able to accommodate them.

It’s a constant problem any Castaic dwelling student has faced. First they were at Saugus, then Valencia, now West Ranch. Close to 400 students graduate from Castaic Middle School each year, and they look with growing uncertainty for their next institution.
