    Taste of the Town is back.

    On Sunday May 6, from 2-6pm at the Mann Biomedical Park in Santa Clarita, the Taste of the Town is back.  

     

    This year, the theme is Mardi Gras, and the specialties from more than 30 local restaurants will be showcased.

     

    Valencia Acura is the title sponsor for the event, which benefits the Child and Family Center.

     

    Dodgers win 8-1

    The Dodgers win BIG over the Colorado Rockies.

     

    Our boys in Dodger Blue beat the Colorado Rockies by a score of 8 - 1. They'll take on the Pittsburg Pirates Friday night at 7 at Dodger Stadium. You can hear all of the play by play on your Hometown Station, AM1220 KHTS.

    Antonovich Steps Up Child Welfare Efforts

    New collaboration aims to make life better for children.

    Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced that the Casey Family Program, a nationally-renowned child welfare organization will collaborate with Los Angeles County to help streamline and maximize efforts to improve the lives of children and families.

    On Friday, April 13, 2007, a female student was contacted by a man in the parking lot of Saugus High School. The person showed the student a badge and claimed to be a deputy sheriff.

    They receive nominations for “Women Making a Difference” award.

    Every year, the Los Angeles Business Journal recognizes women who make a difference. This year, four Providence Health Systems employees are up for the award.

     

    Nominated by their Administrator, these women showcase a wide variety of talent and have proven to be a key ingredient to one of the country’s highest rated health care companies.

    On Tuesday, April 24th, at 2:00pm, KHTS will air a live debate between Henry Mayo CEO Roger Seaver and Smart Growth SCV leader David Gauny. Carl Goldman will moderate.

    Fast Moving Fire Knocked Down

    A fast moving fire was reported in Castaic at 2:30pm.

     

     

    The fire burned 15 acres before it was put out, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department had 150 firefighters on the scene within an hour.

     

    A Sig Alert was  posted by the California Highway Patrol after the fire forced the closure of North bound Old Road at Via Canyon, and South bound Old Road, just south of Parker Road. 

     

    It was expected that the roads would be re-opened by 6:00pm.
