    Kings win 3-1

    The Los Angeles Kings have kicked off their season to a great start.  Keeping in accordance with their first two victories the Kings won again tonight against the Oilers 3-1.  Hopefully their wining season will continue again on Sunday October 16th when your Hometown Station AM 1220 KHTS has more exciting Los Angeles Kings action.  Make sure to keep your radios tuned to KHTS for even more sports updates. 

    Two Boys Attacked with Pepper Spray

    A 13 year-old assaulted two other teens with pepper spray Monday afternoon.... 

    Two boys were walking near the 24600 block of Walnut Street in Newhall when the attacking teen approached and sprayed the two with pepper spray.

    The pair of teens was treated and deemed uninjured.  The teen suspect was found and arrested shortly after 8:00 Monday evening.

     

    Pilot Makes Freeway Landing

    A Piper aircraft sat on the shoulder of the Southbound lanes of Interstate 5 for hours Monday afternoon following an unplanned emergency landing....

    The pilot said his engine quite while he was at about 2,500 feet above sea level, and obviously felt the freeway was the safest place for him to land. 

    He dipped the plan low to warn drivers that he was coming in for a landing.

    Surprisingly, no one was injured on or outside the airplane, and the only damage to the airplane was a flat tire.

    Caltrans Lane Closures!

    Caltrans will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway for carpool lane construction, 10/11 - 10/14!

    Small Plane Lands On 5 Freeway Near McBean

     

    A single engine plane landed on the southbound side of the 5 freeway this afternoon near McBean Parkway. The emergency landing was the result of engine problems. There were no injuries reported, and the landing caused no traffic collisions. Thankfully, traffic was slow on the 5 Freeway at the time of landing.

    In an exciting game, the Los Angeles Kings beat the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in overtime.     I-5 Lane Closures for Pavement Repairs 10/11 – 10/15!

    Caltrans will close the following lanes and ramps of the northbound and southbound Golden State Freeway (I-5) from Vista Del Lago (about two miles north of Castaic) to Frazier Park, as part of a one-year, 40-mile project to repair lanes on I-5 damaged from this year’s heavy rainstorms:

    Lane Closures for Final Stages of I-5/126 Interchage October 11th-15th

     
    Caltrans may close the following lanes of I-5 and State Route 126 as part of the final stages of a $24-million project to improve the I-5/126 Interchange. 
     
    INTERSTATE 5:
    Overnight, Tuesday, October 11 through Wednesday, October 12; and
    Overnight Wednesday, October 12 through Thursday, October 13:
     
    • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The northbound I-5 connector to westbound State Route 126

    Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Science/Math Addition at COC

    College of the Canyons continues to move dirt around as the college’s plans are underway for making a 32, 403 sq. ft expansion to the Laboratory Building on campus.  Although numerous contractors and construction workers have already begun mobilizing storage bins and bulldozers, an official groundbreaking ceremony will be held this Thursday, October 20 at 10 a.m. at the construction site on the COC campus.
