    Play Follows "The Exonerated"

    Hart students take on heavy subject matter.

    Starting Thursday, May 3rd, Hart High School students will star in, produce and direct “The Exonerated.”

     

    The play follows the lives of six people who are wrongly accused of crimes, and end up on death row.

     

    While they eventually get cleared, the play takes an involving look into what life is like for these people before, during and after such an event.

     

    The play will be performed at 7:00pm in Hart High’s black box theatre May 3rd, 4th and 5th.

     

    Interfaith Council Sponsors Prayer

    National Day of Prayer aims to bring SCV together.

    On Thursday, May 3, 2007, the Santa Clarita Interfaith Council will sponsor a National Day of Prayer event at 12 noon in front of City Hall (23920 Valencia, Blvd., Valencia.)   

               

    The public is invited to celebrate our community’s rich religious diversity by joining many of our faith communities sharing in their own prayer tradition. Prayers will be offered from the Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Native American and Pagan traditions.

               

    Antonovich Joins With Arnold To Fight Asthma

    Impact of pollution a concern.

Antonovich joined Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Southland air quality officials to discuss reducing the  impact of air pollution on children with asthma at the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s “Asthma Is a Small World” international conference at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.

     

    Dodgers Win In 9th: 2-1

    In dramatic fashion, the Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks with some late inning heroics, 2-1!The series with the Diamondbacks will conclude tomorrow in a special day time game.  Coverage will begin at 11:30 am on Your Hometown Station, AM 1220, KHTS!

    Breaking Ground On Education

    West Creek Elementary kick starts building in ceremony.

    ImageSaugus Union School District celebrated a big step forward for their soon to be built new school, West Creek Elementary.

     

    LA County Supervisor Michael Antonovich was on hand, along with several other dignitaries to officially kick off construction of the school, which is located off of Copper Hill, just near Decoro Ave.

     

    Dodgers Fall 9-1

    On Monday night, the Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-1.  You can hear game two of this three-game series, Tuesday at 6:30pm on KHTS.

    COC Involved With "Law Day"

    Activities to give unique view on today’s issues.

    Starting at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 1, College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center will play host to three very special legally minded presentations.

    This is the first time College of the Canyons has held events in recognition of "Law Day."  

     

    Three presentations, dealing with issues of law as they pertain to modern life will be made.  They are:

    Softball Match Pays Tribute To Teen Victim.

    Nine years ago, on January 11, 1998, the Saugus Softball Family lost one of their own.

    ImageEighteen year old, Lauren Blaire, a vibrant senior and talented catcher, was killed by a drunk driver while waiting at a red light at Plum Canyon and Bouquet Canyon .   

     

    Welch's Resignation Comes Amid Accolades

    Several people have asked that KHTS set up a way for the community to congratulate Welch on all of his achievements, and so we have posted a section on our blog page to do just that.

    The City of Santa Clarita’s Anti-Gang Task Force and Mad About Rising Crime (M.A.R.C) with host the 10th annual Hero of the Week Recognition Ceremony on Monday, April 30th, at 7 p.m. at the George A. Caravalho Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway in Canyon Country.
