Yee Ordered To Stay Away From Schools In Saugus & Hart Districts

A Valencia High School graduate was given restraining orders Tuesday by both the Saugus Unified School District and William S. Hart Union High School District.

Eric Yee, 21, who was arrested a month ago, following comments he made on an ESPN blog, was ordered to stay away from schools in both districts.

Yee appeared in court Tuesday where he pled not guilty on possession of illegal firearms.

Yee was arrested after he posted that he wouldn’t mind seeing a few kids murdered that he could see outside his window on the ESPN blog.

Sheriff’s deputies then went to Yee’s parents’ house to detain Yee following the threats he posted and discovered multiple illegal weapons in the house.

Yee was arrested along with his father, Roger Manfoo Yee, for possession of illegal firearms.

Yee was released Sept. 20, after posting bail which was reduced from $1 million to $100,000.

The Saugus Union and William S. Hart High School Districts obtained the restraining orders on Sept. 25.

Gail Pinsker, community liaison officer for the William S. Hart Union School District, believes that this will protect the schools in the district.

“It is now out of our hands,” Pinsker said. “Our job is to educate the students and we know the police and sheriff’s deputies will do all they can to protect ours schools and the community.”

The restraining order would have been given to Yee earlier, howeve,r the process servers couldn’t locate Yee to do so, Pinsker said.

Early next month, Yee will appear back in court in front of a judge who will decide if the restraining order will be extended.

Yee’s father also pled not guilty on Tuesday on the charge of possession of illegal firearms.
