KHTS Endorses Congressman Buck McKeon And Assembly Candidate Scott Wilk
While the national stage is set for the Presidential Elections, Santa Clarita has a lot at stake on the local level.
KHTS is endorsing our Congressman Buck McKeon and Assembly Candidate Scott Wilk. Our first open primary in June evolved into a heated battleground for our Valley. When the dust settled and the remaining candidates were able to focus on the issues important to our Valley, it became clear Congressman McKeon deserves another term. As the Chair of the Armed Services Committee, Buck gives our Valley an edge with military issues. We’ve been working with Buck and his staff behind the scenes to create the first of its kind Veteran Village consisting of at least 84 homes, right here in Santa Clarita under a joint partnership between Habitat For Humanity’s, SCV Habitat For Heroes and Cal Vet. While our Congressman can continue to use a push from us on the battle to eliminate the Cemex mega-mine, Buck continues to work for our Valley on numerous local issues, including education, assisting our Boys and Girls Club and many of our other non-profits along with his continued strong support for our Veterans. Keeping Buck in Congress will mean jobs for us here in Santa Clarita and grants for our non-profits.
Scott Wilk has the qualities and qualifications to make a strong representative for our Valley in Sacramento. Scott knows how to navigate through the political challenges in Sacramento. He has a deep understanding of our local issues, currently serving as a Trustee for College of the Canyons. Over the years, we’ve worked with Scott on a number of projects. Scott is smart, diligent and focused. With a Democrat majority in both the Assembly and Senate and a Democrat Governor, it is critical we provide some balance in our State Capitol. We have too much at stake as our State Government needs to focus on making some tough choices and navigating us through this economic crisis. We’re in good hands with Scott Wilk leading the charge for our Valley.
On Tuesday, November 6th we encourage you to vote for Congressman McKeon and our future Assemblyman, Scott Wilk.
