As of September 11, 2012, the city of Santa Clarita’s population increased by 14,900 with the
annexation of Jakes Way, Sand Canyon and Fair Oaks Ranch neighborhoods. This
Saturday, October 27, the city invites Fair Oaks Ranch residents for a “Welcome to the
City” event at Fair Oaks Park from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Community members will have the opportunity to interact with city staff about events,
services and programs, offer input on a new Canyon Country community center and
contribute to a community art project. Holiday-themed cookie decorating will also be
available for the kids.
