CHP Hosts Canned Food Drive For Children

The California Highway Patrol’s Newhall Office (located at Castaic Junction) and their Explorer Program are holding their second annual canned food drive this holiday season.

As [CHP] Explorers, we care about our community and want to do what we can to make a difference in it,” said Alexis Briano, a Newhall CHP Explorer.

The drive, ending Dec. 14, benefits Help The Children – Santa Clarita. The canned food collected goes towards helping families in need this holiday season throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

Donations are collected in the lobby during normal business hours of the CHP Newhall Office, located on The Old Road at Castaic Junction — where Interstate 5 and Highway 126 meet.

The CHP Explorer Program offers teens and young adults (15-21) a chance to work and assist local CHP outlets throughout the state. Learn more here.
