Bridges To Home Invites The Community To Tour Its Winter Shelter

Bridges to Home invites the community to tour its winter shelter located at 23031 Drayton Street this Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

For 16 years, Bridges to Home has opened its doors every winter for our less fortunate neighbors in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“We put together a lot of effort to help those individuals with their problems, we get them help so they can get back into a job and back into a house,” said Tim Davis, executive director of the SCV Emergency Winter Shelter. “We also try and help resolve their issues whether language or job training and point them in the right directions to the proper services while they are here.”

The open house will feature tours of the shelter by Board Members and Staff and they will answer questions about the shelter and talk about the services Bridge to Home offers.

At 7 p.m. a short program will ensue, with dignitaries and acknowledgement of the Boy and Girl Scouts who donated their time and efforts to make significant improvements to the shelter.

In addition to learning about the shelter and Bridge to Home’s services, supporters can bring donations such as breakfast cereal, coffee and creamer, instant chocolate, instant soup, 35 Gallon trash bags, 409 cleaner, toilet paper, paper towels, travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, and toothpaste, foam cups, plates and bowls, and plastic cups.
