Another Round Of Winter Weather For Santa Clarita

Unsettled weather will be returning to the Santa Clarita Valley Monday night. While the winter weather will be mild at best, National Weather Service officials have issued special weather warnings for the Southern California area.

“Another weak weather system is coming in tonight into tomorrow morning,” said NWS weather specialist David Swet.

Rain totals will barely touch a tenth of an inch, according in the NWS.

“There will be light showers, nothing big. After [Tuesday morning] it will clear up, become cold and breezy, with winds up to 25 mph,” Swet said.

The weak winter storm will give way to much colder temperatures than Santa Clarita has felt the past few weeks. Snow levels will drop to 4,000 feet, but won’t affect holiday commuters much, Swet said.

“For anyone traveling through the Grapevine area – [the NWS] do not expect much snow accumulation,” Swet said.

Temperatures will continue to remain seasonal in the upper 50s and lower 60s throughout the rest of the week, with a marginal chance of rain forecasted for Saturday night.
