Annual Tree Lighting To Honor Military

The annual Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting at the Veterans Historical Plaza in Newhall, scheduled for Saturday, December 1 at 7 p.m., will be celebrated with music, prayers and speakers.

Pastor John Shaver of the Valencia United Methodist Church will open the eremony with an invocation and benediction. The event will also feature Marine Vietnam Veteran Dick Jeffrey as the Master of Ceremonies, Army Vietnam Veteran Bill Reynolds as the keynote speaker, and Marilyn Hackett of Wartime Romance for a special performance of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” in addition to other carolers and speakers.

Invitations have gone out to Congressman Buck McKeon, the Santa Clarita City Council and the Gold Star Families of our Valley, who have lost a loved one in service to our country.
