6 Burglaries, 1 Grand Theft Auto In Valencia Last Week

[LASD] – Zone 5 had nearly a 50% drop in reported Part-1 crime this week in comparison to the last update. The criminal incidents this period were residential, commercial and vehicle burglaries, grand theft auto and a number of petty thefts/shoplifting from local businesses.

A residential burglary occurred in the 24000 block of Magic Mountain Parkway between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. There was no forced entry made into the dwelling. Items stolen were silver coins from the victim’s dresser drawer. A second residential burglary occurred in the block of 24000 Gold Drive, during unknown dates and times, while the victim’s house was in probate. Entry/Exit was made by prying the front door. Stolen was an unknown amount of personal property left in the residence by the victim. Both cases are under investigation.

There were three commercial burglaries that occurred in various business areas of Valencia. Items stolen were iPads and iPhones. The cases are currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.

One vehicle burglary occurred in the 26000 block of Las Manaitas Drive in the morning hours during the weekend. There was no forced entry made to the vehicle. Items stolen were a radio and miscellaneous items stolen from the center console area. Please continue to secure all personal belongings. Do not leave your personal items (purses, book bags, laptops, etc.) unattended or visible in your vehicles. There was one grand theft auto which occurred in the 23000 block of Lyons Avenue during morning hours of a weekday. The vehicle was a 1993 Honda Civic stolen from an apartment complex parking lot. This is the third Honda vehicle stolen from the Valencia area.

Remember to secure your vehicles by rolling up all windows, locking all doors and when possible try to park in well-lit and highly visible areas. Report all suspicious activity by calling the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

There were eleven arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. The criminal charges included possession of narcotics, marijuana, domestic violence, warrants and shoplifting from local businesses.
