Taste of the Town 2014 will feature nearly 50 food and beverage purveyors at the 26th annual fundraiser for the Santa Clarita Child & Family Center. The event will be held 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Mann Biomedical Park in Valencia.
Santa Clarita residents of all ages are invited to enjoy a variety of free events at several Santa Clarita Public Library branches in May.
“Anything that’s fun that draws families in so they can see the other resources we offer (is important),” said Shannon Lane, children’s librarian at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library. “It’s a good way to build relationships with the community that might not come in otherwise, as well as provide cultural events for patrons that do already come in.”

The city of Santa Clarita will be accepting hazardous and electronic waste for disposal, during a free E-Waste Roundup on Saturday at College of the Canyons. The county Sanitation Districts and Department of Public Works are partnering with the city.
