    Los Angeles Kings Lose To Nashville Predators In Overtime, 2-1

    In a game heard live Thursday night on KHTS, the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings went to sudden death overtime against the Nashville Predators, just as they had earlier in the week on Monday night against the Vancouver Canucks. The shootout went eight rounds, but the Kings lost by a final score of 2-1. The Kings' record falls to 2-2-2 on the short season thus far.

    Our next Kings game is live on KHTS Saturday at 6:30pm, as the team heads across town to begin their road trip against the Anaheim Ducks. Tune in live to hear all the action, on AM-1220 KHTS!

    College Of The Canyons Men's Golf Team Wins Double Eagle Tournament

    The College of the Canyons men’s golf team won its first tournament of the season in dominating fashion.

    The Cougars won by 24 strokes over Reedley College in the Double Eagle Tournament in Bakersfield.

    COC’s Jake Katz shot the low score in the two-day tournament. He was 1-over at 144. Teammate Luke Kristo was second at 3-over 146. Five golfers from COC finished in the top 10.

    Valencia Girls Basketball Team Beats Golden Valley, Undefeated In Foothill League

    The Valencia girls basketball team cruised to a 68-39 win over Golden Valley to remain undefeated in the Foothill League.

    The Vikings were up by 16 points at halftime and outscored the Grizzlies, 24-11, in the fourth quarter.

    Freshman Sabrina Thompson scored 12 points, making four 3-pointers, to lead the Valencia girls. The Vikings are 7-0 and in first place in the Foothill League.

    Canyon's Record-Setting Receiver Wolitarsky Chooses University Of Minnesota

    Drew Wolitarsky, the record-setting receiver from Canyon High School, will continue his football career in college at the University of Minnesota.

    Wolitarsky broke two California state records in receiving. He became the state leader in receptions and receiving yards, breaking the marks set by Steve Smith, a receiver with the St. Louis Rams who played at Taft High School in Woodland Hills.

    Wolitarsky is the second football player from the Foothill League headed to the Big 10. Leon Jacobs from Golden Valley verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin to play linebacker.

    Kings Come From Behind, Beat Canucks In Overtime, 3-2

    In a game heard live on KHTS Monday night, the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Vancouver Canucks by a final score of 3-2. The Kings came back from a 2-0 deficit to send the game to overtime, and won in an overtime shootout. It's the first win at home this season.

    Hart Boys Basketball Team Avenges Loss To West Ranch

    The West Ranch boys basketball team handed Hart its first loss of the season to start Foothill League play.

    The Hart boys returned the favor, beating West Ranch and giving the host Wildcats their first Foothill League loss of the season.

    The Indians won the game, 84-65, and are tied for first place with West Ranch in the Foothill League standings. Both teams are 5-1 with four games remaining in league.

    The Master's College Women's Basketball Team Bounces Back Against La Sierra

    The Master’s College women’s basketball team is back to its winning ways.

    The Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 8 in the NAIA, beat La Sierra, 84-47. The Master’s College women won their first 17 games before losing to Westmont on Tuesday night.

    Jacquelyn Marshall scored 15 points to lead The Master’s College against La Sierra. Four Lady Mustangs scored in double figures.

    Kings Lose Third Straight, Fall To Edmonton 2-1 In Overtime

    The Los Angeles Kings lost to the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night, by a final score of 2-1. The Kings led most of the game until Edmonton tied with less than five seconds left. The Oilers scored again in overtime to take the win. The Kings remain winless on the season.

    Canyon's Cade Apsay Selected To CalHiSports All-State Football Team

    Canyon High quarterback Cade Apsay was selected to the CalHiSports.com All-State Junior Third Team.

    Apsay threw for 3,333 yards and 39 touchdowns in the fall for the Canyon football team.

    Valencia Boys Soccer Team Shuts Out West Ranch, Remains Unbeaten In Foothill League

    The Valencia boys soccer team took over first place in the Foothill League with a 1-0 shutout over West Ranch.

    Zach Klindworth, pictured at right, scored the lone goal in the game in the 55th minute. The Vikings improved to 4-0-1 in Foothill League play.

    West Ranch dropped to 4-1-0 and had its five-game winning streak snapped.
