    West Ranch Softball Team Remains Undefeated In Foothill League Play

    The West Ranch softball team is starting to run away from the rest of the Foothill League.

    The Wildcats beat Valencia, 6-3, and ran its Foothill League record to 5-0. They have a commanding two-game lead over Valencia and Saugus for first place in the league standings.

    Charlotte Romero delivered the big blow for West Ranch with a two-run double in the seventh inning. She reached base all four times she came to the plate.

    West Ranch, Canyon Baseball Teams Close To Cracking CIF Top 10 Poll

    The Canyon and West Ranch baseball teams are knocking on the door of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 top 10.

    Both teams are listed among others in the Division 1 poll. Canyon and West Ranch are tied for first place in the Foothill League standings with 6-3 records.

    Mater Dei is the No. 1 team in Division 1.

    Saugus Girls 4x1,600 Relay Team Sets Fastest Time In The Nation

    Four girls on the Saugus track team are among the nation’s elite after winning the 4 x 1,600 relay at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays.

    Abigial Frankian, Heidi Hoslet, Samantha Ortega and Sabrina Janes set the fastest time in the nation in the 4 x 1,600 relay in 20 minutes, 21.47 seconds, and broke the time set by Aptos High School.

    The Canyon girls were fifth in the 4 x 1,600 relay in 21 minutes, 0.32 seconds.

    The Saugus boys were 10th in the 4 x 1,600 relay in 17 minutes, 47.15 seconds.

    West Ranch Softball Team Pounds Golden Valley, Improves To 4-0

    The West Ranch softball team beat Golden Valley, 11-1, and improved to 4-0 in the Foothill League. The Wildcats scored four runs in the first inning and collected 19 hits in the game.

    Keeley Walsh went 4-for-4 with a home run and drove in four runs. Lauren Lombardi had three hits and drove in two runs.

    West Ranch has won seven games in a row.

    Valencia Baseball Team Shuts Out West Ranch; Four Teams Tied For First Place

    The Valencia baseball team shut out West Ranch, 6-0, and forced a four-way tie for first place in the Foothill League.

    Vikings starter JD Busfield tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven.

    Chad Bible and Anthony Lepre hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fifth inning. Bible also hit a two-run single in the third inning and drove in three runs in the game.

    West Ranch Softball Team Powers Past Saugus

    The West Ranch softball team stayed undefeated in Foothill League play with a 5-1 win over Saugus.

    Kylie Sorenson hit a three-run home run in the third inning to break a scoreless tie. Keeley Walsh hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to add some insurance.

    Lexie Sorenson gave up one run, a solo home run to Ty Cueva, on three hits and struck out two. The Wildcats are 3-0 in league. Saugus dropped to 1-2.

    The Master's College's Men's Golf Team Leads NAIA Regional Championship

    The Master’s College men’s golf team is tied for first place after the first two rounds of the NAIA Regional Championship at Diamond Woods Golf Course in Oregon.

    The Mustangs, ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, share the lead with Warner Pacific.

    Thane Ringler from The Master’s College is tied for fifth place at 9-over after two rounds.

    Saugus Softball Team Wins Two Games In Santiago Spring Fling Tournament

    The Saugus softball team won a pair of games in the Santiago Spring Fling Tournament over the weekend.

    The Centurions beat Etiwanda, 4-3 in eight innings, and Colton 4-2.

    Mariah Lopez went the distance in the circle, striking out 11, for Saugus against Etiwanda. She also hit a home run and was 2-for-3.

    The West Ranch softball team beat Canyon, 8-3, to improve to 2-0 in Foothill League play. 

    Julia Lombardi had two hits, including a double, scored twice and drove in a run for West Ranch.

    Lexi Sorenson earned the win giving up eight hits and striking out five.
