    Hart Football Team Sets School Records In Win Over Santiago

    The Hart football team won its season opener against Santiago from Corona in record-setting fashion.

    Hart recorded a school record 669 yards from scrimmage in its 56-49 win over Santiago. Hart quarterback Brady White completed a school record 36 passes for 472 yards and three touchdowns in the win on Friday night.

    Canyon Football Team Opens Against Perennial Powerhouse Westlake

    The Canyon football team opens on the road against Westlake, a team that is dealing with player suspensions after its opener in Hawaii.

    The Master's College Men's Cross Country Team Ranked No. 9 In NAIA Poll

    The Master’s College men’s cross country team is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason top 25.

    The Mustangs share the No. 9 spot with Cal State San Marcos. The Master’s College is one of three teams from the Golden State Athletic Conference ranked in the NAIA top 25.

    COC Men's Soccer Team Loses Season Opener

    The College of the Canyons men’s soccer team lost its season opener, 3-1, to El Camino-Compton Center.

    Tony Barron scored the lone goal for the Cougars in the first half to tie the score, 1-1.

    El Camino scored two goals in the second half to win the game.

    Hart Football Team Is No. 1 In Northern Division Preseason Poll

    The Hart football team is ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division preseason poll.

    The Indians are one of four teams from the Foothill League in the top 10.

    Valencia is ranked No. 4. Canyon is No. 5 and West Ranch is No. 10.

    Tim White Wins Silver Medal In Triple Jump At Pan American Junior Meet

    College of the Canyons triple jumper Tim White won the silver medal on a tiebreaker at the Pan American Junior Track and Field Championships in Colombia.

    White, a Hart High graduate, recorded a personal-best jump of 54 feet, 1 ¼ inches, but he was second to Lazaro Martinez of Cuba.

    Martinez is the reigning World Youth champion in the triple jump. He also recorded a jump of 54 feet, 1 ¼ inches. The gold medal was awarded to the athlete with the best second jump. Martinez’s second jump was 53 feet, 9 inches to White’s 53 feet, 5 ½ inches.

    The Master's College Women's Volleyball Team Splits Two Matches

    The Master’s College women’s volleyball team, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, split its first two matches at the Anaheim Summer Slam tournament.

    The Lady Mustangs beat Lewis and Clark State in their first match, 3-2. But they lost their second match of the tournament, 3-2, against Davenport from Michigan.

    COC Triple Jumper Set To Compete At Panamerican Junior Championships

    College of the Canyons triple jumper Tim White is competing in the Panamerican Junior Championships in Colombia this weekend.

    White is the US Junior Outdoor Track and Field champion in the triple jump. He set a school record at the US Junior National meet in 53 feet, 1 inch in June.

    The Master's College Women's Volleyball Team Ranked No. 9 In NAIA

    The Master’s College women’s volleyball team is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason top 25.

    The Lady Mustangs are one of four teams from the Golden State Athletic Conference ranked in the NAIA top 25.

    Concordia is ranked No. 1. Biola is No. 4 and Westmont is No. 16.

    Canyon High Grad Greg Pursley 2nd In West Series Race

    Canyon High graduate Greg Pursley was the runner-up in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Evergreen Speedway in Washington.

    He finished behind rookie Dylan Lupton in a race that ended with a multi-car crash. Pursley’s car suffered damage in the wreck, but he was able to cross the finish line in second place.
