    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart And Canyon Boys Basketball Reach Quarterfinals

    The Hart and Canyon boys basketball teams are in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

    The Valencia boys were eliminated.

    Hart won its second round game, 81-34, over Kaiser in the second round of the Division 2A playoffs. Hart got off to a hot start, leading 30-10 in the first quarter. Lewis Stallworth scored 13 points in the first quarter and finished with 20.

    Hart plays Tustin in the quarterfinals on Friday night.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Five Boys Basketball Teams In CIF Playoffs

    Five boys basketball teams from the Santa Clarita Valley are in action tonight in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

    The Hart boys are home for their second round Division 2A playoff game against Kaiser.

    The Canyon boys welcome La Habra to Canyon High for their second round Division 2AA playoff game.

    The Valencia boys are on the road against Trabuco Hills.

    The Trinity Classical Academy boys are home against Baptist Christian in the quarterfinals of the Division 6 playoffs.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Four Girls Basketball Teams Make Playoffs, Three Advance

    Four girls basketball teams from the Foothill League entered the CIF Southern Section playoffs. Three advanced to the second round.

    Hart, Canyon and Golden Valley cruised in their first-round playoffs games.

    The Valencia girls were eliminated in their opening round game.

    Hart crushed Sultana, 66-20, in the first round of the Division 2A playoffs and won its first playoff game in three years.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Christian Boys Basketball Win In Playoffs

    The Santa Clarita Christian boys basketball team started its playoff run a day early. But the Santa Clarita Christian boys had no problem with Tarbut V’Torah, 64-38, in the second round of the Division 5A playoffs.

    On the girls side, the Albert Einstein Academy lost to Silver Valley, 59-25, in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs.

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls lost to Arrowhead Christian, 55-29, in the first round of the Division 5A playoffs.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Trinity Classical Academy Boys Basketball Win In Playoffs

    The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team rolled over New Covenant Academy, 57-16, in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

    Trinity led 38-8 at halftime and held New Covenant to two points in the fourth quarter.

    Trinity plays Lee Vining in the second round of the playoffs on Friday night.

    The Trinity Classical Academy girls basketball team plays Arrowhead Christian tonight in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5A playoffs.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Saugus Boys Soccer Loses In Extra Time

    The Saugus boys soccer team lost a nail-biter to Culver City in the wild-card round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.

    Culver City scored in the second overtime period and won, 2-1, eliminating Saugus from the playoffs.

    Saugus ends its season with a 10-11-3 record.

    Santa Clarita Sports: CIF Southern Section Boys Soccer Playoffs Begin

    The CIF Southern Section boys soccer playoffs begin today with four teams from the Santa Clarita Valley in action.

    The West Ranch boys are home for a game against Bishop Montgomery in the Division 4 wild-card round. West Ranch finished in third place in the Foothill League.

    Bishop Montgomery is the third-place team from the Del Rey League.

    The Saugus boys are on the road to open the Division 4 playoffs. The Centurions take on Culver City, the third-place team from the Ocean League.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Boys Basketball Undefeated In Foothill League

    The Hart boys basketball team capped an undefeated Foothill League season with a 53-52 win over Canyon.

    Hart won the Foothill League championship outright with a perfect 10-0 record.

    Santa Clarita Sports: College Of The Canyons Men’s Golf Team Makes History

    The College of the Canyons men’s golf team made some history in the first Western State Conference match of the season.

    The COC men's golf team set the course record at Valencia Country Club with a team score of 367. They won the tournament by 33 strokes over Santa Barbara City College.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Boys Basketball Wins Foothill League Championship

    The Hart boys basketball team won the Foothill League championship after toppling Valencia, 82-68.

    The Hart boys ran their undefeated Foothill League record to 9-0. Valencia dropped to 6-3.

    The West Ranch boys basketball team beat Golden Valley, 87-49, and moved into a second-place tie with Valencia for second place in the Foothill League standings.

    The Canyon boys basketball team beat Saugus, 66-51. The Cowboys improved to 5-4 and is in fourth place in the Foothill League standings.
