    Hart Baseball, Softball Celebrate 60th Anniversary At William S. Hart Complex

    The William S. Hart Baseball and Softball League celebrated its 60th Anniversary Opening Day Ceremonies with a crowd of about 2,000 people, Saturday.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Christian Girls Soccer Remain Unbeaten

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls soccer team played the Archer School for Girls to a scoreless draw and kept its unbeaten streak alive.

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls improved to 15-0-3 overall on the season. They are 5-0-1 in the Liberty League. Archer is in first place in the Liberty League with a 6-0-1 record.

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls recorded their 11th shutout in a row. They have outscored their opponents, 123-7, this season.

    Santa Clarita Sports: High School Athletes Headed To The NCAA

    Canyon’s Cade Apsay and Hart’s Davis Koppenhaver capped a slew of high school football players headed to the NCAA on national signing day.

    Apsay is headed to the University of Colorado and the Pac 12 to play quarterback. Koppenhaver is headed out east to play wide receiver for Duke University.

    Three players in all from Hart are headed to collegiate football careers. Running back Connor Wingenroth committed to Colgate and Blake Porter is headed to Northern Arizona.

    Santa Clarita Sports: COC Baseball Lost To The College Of The Sequoias, 12-7

    In college baseball, the College of the Canyons lost to the College of the Sequoias, 12-7.

    The Master’s College shut out Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 5-0. Ryan Shackelford hit a solo home run and went 2-for-4 for the Mustangs. The Master’s College improved to 11-1.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Canyon Boys Basketball Ranked No. 5 In CIF Poll

    The Canyon boys basketball team is ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA poll.

    The Hart boys basketball team is ranked No. 4 in the Division 2A poll.

    The Hart boys are in first place in the Foothill League standings at 6-0. They are coming off a 83-43 blowout over West Ranch.

    Hart Boys Basketball Team Remains Undefeated In Foothill League

    The Hart boys basketball team remained undefeated in the Foothill League with a 83-43 thrashing against West Ranch.

    The 40-point blowout was the biggest margin of victory against a Foothill League opponent for Hart this season. The Indians improved to 6-0 in league. Lewis Franklin led Hart with 26 points. Myles Franklin scored 20.

    West Ranch dropped to 3-3 in the Foothill League.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Boys Basketball Undefeated In The Foothill League

    The Hart boys basketball team is undefeated in the Foothill League. The Indians are 5-0 after the first round of league play. They take on West Ranch tonight.

    West Ranch is tied with Canyon and Valencia for second place in the Foothill League standings. All three teams have 3-2 records.

    Valencia takes on Saugus tonight. The Vikings lost to West Ranch on Tuesday night. Saugus is 0-5 in the Foothill League.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Christian Girls Soccer Win 11 In A Row

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls soccer team shut out AGBU, 10-0, and won their 11th game in a row.

    Susannah Gwinn scored two goals and had an assist.

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls are 13-0-2 overall and 3-0 in the Liberty League.

    Santa Clarita Sports: TMC Women's Basketball Streak Snapped

    In college basketball, The Master’s College women lost to Westmont, 54-59, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game.

    The Lady Mustangs, ranked ninth in the NAIA, had their 11-game winning streak snapped and lost their first game in Golden State Athletic Conference play.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Valencia Boys Basketball Jumped To No. 15

    The Valencia boys basketball team jumped into the CIF Southern Section Division 1AA poll. The Hart boys basketball team dropped off the Open Division watch list.

    The Valencia boys are ranked No. 15 in the Division 1AA poll, tied with Orange Lutheran. Mater Dei is the top-ranked team in Division 1AA.

    The Hart boys are No. 4 in the Division 2A poll. They are undefeated in the Foothill League at 4-0.
