    Valencia Girls Volleyball Team Sweeps Canyon

    The Valencia girls volleyball team swept Canyon, 3-0, to stay undefeated in the Foothill League.

    The Vikings, ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll, have an 8-0 record against league opponents. They are 17-8 overall.

    Emily Burns, Emily Bible and Savi Carrol led a balanced attack for Valencia against Canyon. Each had eight kills in the match.

    Valencia plays Hart tonight.

    The Hart girls volleyball team swept Golden Valley, 3-0. The Indians are 4-4 in the Foothill League. Golden Valley dropped to 0-8 in league.

    The Master's College Women's Basketball Team Ranked No. 10

    The Master’s College women’s basketball team is ranked No. 10 in the NAIA Division I preseason poll.

    The Lady Mustangs posted a 25-6 record and played in the NAIA national tournament for the first time in five years last season.

    Golden Valley's Elisa Pierra Advances To Second Round Of CIF Golf Playoffs

    Golden Valley’s Elisa Pierre shot a 1-over 73 in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division Individual Regional golf tournament and advanced to the second round of playoffs.

    She was the only golfer from the Foothill League to move past the first round of playoffs at the River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard.

    Valencia Football Team Erases 22-point Deficit, Beats Canyon

    The Valencia football team pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Foothill League.

    The Vikings erased a 22-point, second-half deficit and beat Canyon, 35-28. Valencia scored 29 unanswered points in the second half and improved to 3-0 in the Foothill League.

    Canyon, meanwhile, lost its first Foothill League game and dropped to 2-1.

    Canyon led 28-6 in the third quarter before Valencia started its comeback.

    Valencia receiver Nick Jones scored the game-winning touchdown on a 98-yard reception in the fourth quarter.

    The Canyon and Valencia football teams meet tonight in a crucial Foothill League contest.

    Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division poll. Both teams are undefeated in the Foothill League at 2-0.

    Hart Girls Tennis Team Wins Foothill League Championship

    The Hart girls tennis team won the Foothill League championship and ran its undefeated record to 16-0.

    The Indians beat Valencia, 10-8, with all three singles players sweeping their sets.

    Natalia Munoz didn’t drop a game, winning, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. Hart’s No. 1 singles player Jackie Resler won her sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1.

    The Master's College Women's Volleyball Team Sweeps West Coast Baptist

    The Master’s College women’s volleyball team, ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, swept West Coast Baptist in three games.

    Ashley Newton led the Lady Mustangs with 10 kills. Stacey Jones had eight digs and five kills.

    The Master’s College improved to 16-4 on the season.

    In soccer, The Master’s College men lost to Westmont, 2-1, in overtime.

    Jorge Serrano scored for The Master’s College in the 55th minute to tie the score, 1-1. Valencia High graduate Zach Klindworth assisted on the goal.

    Hart, Valencia, Canyon Football Teams Ranked In CIF Top 10

    The Hart football team is ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division and the only undefeated team in the top 10.

    Hart is coming off a 61-13 thrashing over Golden Valley in Week 2 of Foothill League play.

    Two other teams from the Foothill League are in the top 10.

    Canyon Football Team Slips Past Pesky Saugus

    The Canyon football team narrowly escaped with a 23-20 win over Saugus in a Foothill League game on Friday night.

    Saugus missed a 29-yard field goal as time expired. The field goal would have tied the score and sent the game into overtime.

    Instead, Canyon won its third game in a row. Canyon quarterback Cade Apsay scored the game-winning touchdown on a keeper in the fourth quarter.

    But the Cowboys left enough time on the clock for Saugus to try a field goal at the end of the game. The Centurions missed the kick, wide right.
