Bouquet Canyon Center/KHTS Live Broadcast
When:  Saturday, December 1 from 12 noon to 3pm
Where:  Bouquet Canyon Center on Bouquet at Newhall Ranch Road (Ross Shopping Center)
Details:  The Bouquet Canyon Center and KHTS are kicking off the holiday season in a spectacular way.  Youth choirs from local schools will be performing holiday songs throughout the afternoon.  There will be prizes and giveaways.  The stores in the center will be offering great savings to help you with your holiday shopping.  KHTS will be there broadcasting live, so make sure to stop by.  Bring the kids to climb on and take pictures with the KHTS antique 1948 Mack fire truck. 

Action Family Zone Holiday Boutique
When:  Saturday, December 1 from 1pm to 5pm
Where:  Action Family Zone, 20655 Soledad Canyon Road (Soledad at Ruether, across from Home Depot)
Details:  Santa will be hosting the Action Family Zone Holiday Boutique.  This will be a huge holiday event for children and parents to shop an awesome variety of vendors, design personalized gift bags, decorate yummy gingerbread cookies in our craft room, and even take pictures with Santa! We are also planning to have a big bounce house jumper for the kids to hang out while mom and dad shop all afternoon.  Admission is free.  The Action Family Zone is a non-profit organization and all funds raised and donated go towards a variety of educational programs including personal development, leadership, critical thinking, effective communication, team building, and relationships. Click here to learn more.

Repertory East Playhouse “Moonlight & Magnolias”
When:  Now through December 15, Friday and Saturday shows start at 8pm, Sunday Matinees start at 2pm
Where:  Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  Repertory East Playhouse brings us “Moonlight & Magnolias” the hilarious behind the scenes story of the making of “Gone with the Wind”.  It seems the screenplay for GWTW wasn’t working so legendary producer David O. Selznick shuts down production.  Over five days Selznick, famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and director Victor Fleming lock themselves in a room with only a diet of bananas and peanuts and come up with the screenplay for the movie that becomes a classic.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for students and seniors.  Doors & Bar opens one hour before show time.  Call 288-000 or click here for more information and tickets.  

Canyon Theatre Guild “White Christmas”
When:  Friday at 8pm on:  November 23, December 7, 14 and 21;  Saturday at 8pm on:  November 24, December 1, 8, 15 and 22;  Saturdays at 2pm on: December 15 and 22;  Sundays at 2pm on:  November 25, December 2, 9 and 16;  Weekday performances at 7pm on Tuesday, December 19 and Wednesday, December 20

Lancater Performing Arts Center – “A Christmas Carol”

HMNMH Holiday Home Tour “Holiday Surprise and Delight”
When:  Saturday, December 1 from 9:30am to 4:40pm
Where:  Three homes within the Santa Clarita Valley; boutique at Hyatt Regency
Details:  Three homes will be elegantly decorated to showcase the theme of this year’s HenryMayoNewhallMemorialHospital’s Home Tour “Holiday Surprise and Delight”.  Tickets are $25 until November 30 and $30 on the day of the Tour.  The tour is open to all adults and children over 12 years.  Guests are requested to wear flat shoes only, for safety reasons.  During the tour there will be a holiday boutique at Hyatt Regency Valencia from 9am to 4pm.  Tickets may be purchased at the boutique on Saturday, December 1.  Proceeds benefit the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  Click here for tickets and more information or call 253-8051.  

HMNMH Tree Lighting

Ice Station Valencia – Family Snow Day

Placerita Nature Center – Holiday Craft Faire
When:  Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 from 10am to 3pm both days
Where:  PlaceritaNatureCenter, 19152 Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall
Details:  PlaceritaNatureCenter is hosting its annual Holiday Craft Faire.  Create and decorate holiday wreaths, center pieces, candles and ornaments using a large assortment of fresh-cut greenery, pine cones and other natural treasures.  Candle dipping and other crafts will be available for children.  There is no entry charge but there are reasonable charges for making wreaths and crafts.  Wreaths and Yule logs are $12 and up (depending on size) and crafts are $1 to $3.  This is the Centers only fundraiser of the year.  Profits go towards the care of the Center’s animals and are used for educational purposes, improvements and renovations to the Center and grounds.  Click here to learn more.

Santa Clarita 7th Annual Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting
When:  Saturday, December 1 at 7pm
Where:  Veterans Historical Plaza, 24275 N. Walnut Street, Newhall
Details:  The Santa Clarita 7th Annual Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting features prayers, music, speakers and hot chocolate.  Pastor John Shaver of the Valencia United Methodist Church will deliver the Invocation and Benediction. Dick Jeffrey, Marine Vietnam Veteran, will be the master of ceremonies and Bill Reynolds, Army Vietnam Veteran, will give the keynote speech. Dante Acosta, Gold Star Father and Mark Sears, author of “Blue Star Christmas” will also be speaking and Marilyn Hackett, author of the musical “Wartime Romance,” will sing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”  To submit veteran or active military photos for the tree, contact Suzon Gerstel of Prayer Angels for the Military (prayerangelsforthemilitary@yahoo.com).  Donations for troops will be accepted.
