Mormon Conference To Be Televised Locally

Time Warner To Broadcast National Conference On Local Santa Clarita Channel.

The 178th General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be broadcast live this weekend, from Salt Lake City.  The conference will make history as 82-year old Thomas Monson is expected to be ratified by the entire membership during a solemn assembly held this Saturday morning.

Monson replaces President Gordon B. Hinckley who died last month at age 96.  Monson will be the first 21st century president of the LDS Church.

"We invite all community members to participate with us in viewing this historical conference broadcast" said Brian Sheffield, President of the Santa Clarita Stake for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Time Warner will broadcast the conference on channel # 698 both Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and April 6 for all Santa Clarita residents.
