The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team won the CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship, 77-52, over Desert Chapel.
Sophomore Ian Caddow scored a game-high 37 points, but it was freshman Beau Howell who was the star of the game.
Howell has autism. He entered the game in the final minute and scored the first basket of his career. The Desert Chapel players gave him every opportunity to score his first basket and ended the game with the finest act of sportsmanship.
The Hart and Canyon boys basketball teams are in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
The Valencia boys were eliminated.
Hart won its second round game, 81-34, over Kaiser in the second round of the Division 2A playoffs. Hart got off to a hot start, leading 30-10 in the first quarter. Lewis Stallworth scored 13 points in the first quarter and finished with 20.
Hart plays Tustin in the quarterfinals on Friday night.
