    Sheriff's Crime Reports Include Drug Arrests, Sex Offenders, School Burglary

    Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station officials have released the crime reports for the week of July 21 through 27.

    Closures for the I-5 Pavement Improvement Project

    Delays should be expected on I-5 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., only one lane will be open at times.

    The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) plans to implement closures during the week of August 3-10, as part of a pavement improvement project on the Golden State Freeway (I-5) between Vista Del Lago Road and the Kern County line. More information about the project is here.

    Animal Control Officers Plan Licensing Enforcement In Santa Clarita

    Department of Animal Care and Control officers are planning to conduct field licensing enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Valencia, Saugus and Canyon Country beginning Aug. 20.

    Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has walked just 15 batters in 16 starts this season, though his command finally faltered on Monday night when he was a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

    In a video that's gone viral, late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel asked Kershaw, the two-time National League Cy Young Award winner, to stand about 15 feet away and throw a baseball at an apple resting atop Kimmel's head.

    Culinary Buildings At COC Nearly Complete

    Construction of two new buildings at the College of the Canyons Valencia campus is nearing completion as administrators prepare for the Fall semester.

    The new student services and administration building and the College of the Canyons Institute for Culinary Education building are scheduled to be finished by the end of the fall semester, said Jim Schrage, COC's vice president of facilities planning, operations and construction.
