    By now you’ve probably heard about the lawsuit in Arizona between the U.S. Forest Service and a group of recreational users over the Coronado National Forest.

    The basic premise is that national forests belong to the people of the United States, and as such, the people should not be charged fees to park and recreate there.

    Newhall Community Center Hosts Winter Break Youth Program

    With school out for the holidays, Santa Clarita is offering new programming for youth ages 5-17 every weekday, except holidays, from 1 to 6 p.m. until Jan. 10,  at the Newhall Community Center off Market Street.

    Henry Mayo Foundation Offers Matching Grant For Newhall District Music Program

    If the Newhall School District raises $10,000 in support of the elementary school district’s music program, the Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation will match the public’s generosity with an additional $10,000.
