You know when you find the perfect recipe? It is the recipe that you want to write down, take a picture of, put on the bulletin board? Epicurious.com is one of my favorite sites to get recipes and ideas. I like Epicurious because I can find tested recipes with comments from chef's and home cooks alike.
This recipe for Romaine Wedges with Tangy Blue Cheese Vinaigrette is my go to recipe when I am making a salad for home or taking to someone's house. The recipe was featured in Bon Appetit in April, 2008. Users rated it four stars and 100% would make it again.
Now that it is cooling down a bit, I like to get in the kitchen and prepare soups and stews. My family loves soup, specially when I provide a bunch of toppings for them to "customize" their meal. This recipe was featured in the July 2013 of Better Homes and Gardens however I have altered it a bit from its original form.
Macaroni and cheese is by far my favorite food! And to find a way to incorporate more vegetables into the dish is an added bonus! Cauliflower is a great (and sneaky) addition to macaroni and cheese because its' white color blends into the cheese sauce.
This version is not too cheesy, although it is not beyond me to add some extra to any macaroni and cheeserecipe!
As a busy mom, I appreciate one bowl recipes. If I get up the energy to cook from scratch, cleaning up the kitchen after seems daunting. This recipe mixes all the ingredients in one bowl - saving dish-washing time. They are so delicious and very easy to make. Have fun and enjoy!
Macey, my 12 year old, made this delicious, light Waldorf Salad, which is served on butter lettuce as a lettuce wrap and with whole grain pita chips. It is such an easy and refreshing recipe for the warm summer nights here in the Santa Clarita summer.
This recipe was inspired by a menu on eMeals. Every week, I get seven clean eating recipes emailed to me. My plan is to use this subscription to inspire at least 2-3 meals at home, some prepared by the girls. Arielle made this recipe this week. It took her about an hour and one half but that is mostly because she is not as experienced as I am at following recipes such as this.
