KHTS AM-1220’s brand new Features Department is looking for interns as the department continues to grow! Whether you’re interested in a wide range of human-interest topics, SEO writing, or helping keep residents informed on all the latest events and activities going on in our community, KHTS Features has something for everyone!

Here are some of the job responsibilities of our Features interns:

Video Features (Human-Interest Stories & Videos)

⦁ Team up with the KHTS Video Department to go on location for film shoots
⦁ Help conduct on-camera interviews and assist videographer during filming
⦁ Write KHTS Features stories for hometownstation.com to pair with videos
⦁ Assist with the weekly “KHTS Adoptable Pet of the Week” video feature series
⦁ Come up with new, interesting ideas for video features

Client Features (SEO/Content Writing)

⦁ Watch and transcribe YouTube videos of radio interviews and shows with clients
⦁ Conceptualize stories based on interviews and write articles for hometownstation.com
⦁ Learn all about Search Engine Optimization and how it can benefit businesses, and use this knowledge when writing stories

Top Things to Do in Santa Clarita (Weekly Events Post & Newsletter)

⦁ Assist with compiling lists of upcoming events and activities
⦁ Gather key event info and arrange it in the correct format
⦁ Write radio scripts for top events of the week
⦁ Help create the weekly Top Things to Do in Santa Clarita newsletter

Job Requirements: To succeed in our features internship, candidates should possess the following:

⦁ Past experience working in an environment with daily deadlines
⦁ Ability to communicate with a clear “voice” through their writing
⦁ An interest in learning about a wide variety of topics, from animals to business and more
