Buck McKeon has issued the following statement after House Republicans left the floor to protest the Democrats’ refusal to schedule a vote on the Senate-passed bill to modernize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

“Democrat leadership refused a vote on the critically needed Protect America Act and is leaving town without ensuring our nation’s intelligence personnel have the tools they need to do their jobs effectively.  Their decision to allow the FISA modernization bill to expire will cost the American people core protections they have come to rely on and expect.  I joined House Republicans in a united walkout from the House floor to make a stand for national security, because it became clear today that Democrats weren’t going to do it.”
