Tragedy and comedy are both available on May 9 and 10 in the Theater Room at Saugus High School, when the Advanced Drama class presents two one-hour plays featuring 21 outstanding young Saugus actors.

The first play, which begins at 7 p.m., is entitled “Deoxyribonucleic Acid.” DNA is a serious play about teens who try to cover up a not-so-accidental death. The second play, which begins at 8:30 p.m., is a hilarious comedy about teenage love and school rivalries, featuring a Cupid statue that comes to life.

In DNA, eight teenagers are gripped with panic when their teasing causes poor Adam (played by Brian Tran) to fall
