The Newhall School District's summer school program opened June 29 for both regular education and special education students who need extra help over the long summer months.

After three years in construction beginning in June 2006, the Interchange Improvements, Phase 2, will be final in July 2009. Over these past three years, the lead agency, the City of Santa Clarita, in partnership with Caltrans and Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, has completed the following work:

Economic Stimulus Grant To Benefit Regional Economy
College of the Canyons Receives $400,000 Grant to Launch New Allied Health Program
The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office has awarded a two-year $400,000 grant to College of the Canyons that will help fund the college's Medical Lab Technician (MLT) program. The college was one of 17 colleges to receive an economic stimulus grant in the state.
