There is strength in numbers, and Santa Clarita's movers, shakers and decision-makers stood side-by-side in Sacramento last week to flex their muscles.
It was the fifth annual Sacramento Road Trip, organized each year by KHTS AM-1220 radio station owners Carl Goldman and Jeri Seratti-Goldman.
Located 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, the City of Santa Clarita encompasses 52-square miles, with a population of approximately 180,000 residents. Santa Clarita is a leading business community in North Los Angeles County, with numerous entertainment, biomedical, technology, and aerospace companies.
The City of Santa Clarita is home to the largest master-planned industrial park in Los Angeles County, and in 2008 was named the "Most Business Friendly City in Los Angeles County" by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation.
I-5 LOS ANGELES-SANTA CLARITA GATEWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The North Los Angeles County Interstate 5 project proposes to extend the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-5 from the State Route 14 (SR14) Interchange to Parker Road and to incorporate truck climbing lanes from the SR-14 Interchange to Pico Canyon Road/Lyons Avenue. Caltrans is the project lead along with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
Saugus Union School District is an elementary pre-school through 6th grade district in the Santa Clarita Valley. We have an operating budget of approximately 110 million. We have 10,350 students housed in 15 schools. Our enrollment has been steadily declining over the past four years. We are the administrative unit for the Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA).
