Opening ceremonies will feature a parade of vehicles with area first responders, the Minter Field Air Museum, and Mopars of Bakersfield, along with a presentation of colors and the national anthem performed by CHP Public Information Officer Robert Rodriguez.

The Saturday Night Supermoto action takes place on a specially designed course utilizing much of the half-mile front stretch and the quarter-mile speedway in front of the grandstands.  Highlights include a steel ski jump in the infield and speeds over 100 miles per hour when the bikes hit the half-mile.  Nearly 30 riders participated in the inaugural event on August 23rd with feature wins to Josh Chisum in the 12 lap Pro race and Steven Davies in the 8 lap Amateur race.

On the NASCAR side of action, the half-mile speedway will be alive with a $2,000 to win, 50 lap non-points contest for the CITGO Late Models plus a 30 lap championship points race for the Spec Modifieds.

The Spec Modifieds have grown exponentially in recent weeks but 2013 track champion Chris Dalton has remained atop the standings ahead of teammate Brock Thompson and Jim Coffey. Fourth in points Gary Dutton returns after visiting Boone, IA for the IMCA Super Nationals while Orcutt’s Mark Allan rounds out the top-five.

Quarter-mile racing will see a 30 lap race for the NASCAR Mini Stocks, a 25 lapper for the INEX Bandoleros, and 15 laps of 911 series racing.  Randy Smith leads the Mini Stocks in a nearly all-rookie top-five.  2013 Porterville Speedway champion and Independence High School student Stacy Evans ranks second in a tie with Terry Pettit with Eric Aldridge fourth.

Tyler Bannister appears well on his way to defending his 2013 Bandolero title as he enjoys a 74 point advantage over Braden Rogers with Jr. Mini Dwarf standout Kabe McClenny running third in his rookie Bando season.

The 911 Racing Series features first responders from across Kern County in action in identically prepared KCRP Racing Experience Pro 4 Modifieds.  Bakersfield Police Department used a feature win on August 9th to move into a tie for the top of the points with Shafter Police Department.  Kern County Fire ranks third.

Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. on Saturday with qualifying at 5 p.m.  Supermoto heat races will be at 5:45 p.m. followed by on track autographs.  Opening ceremonies and the first of the Supermoto mains will kick off the program at 7 p.m.

Saturday night’s events are just $15 for Adults, $8 for Seniors 65+, Active Military, Children 6-15, and Children 5 and under are free!  A Family Pass for two adults and two seniors or children is $40 (Box office only).  Reserved stadium seats are $20.  Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. with autographs at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
