During a tense and emotional Santa Clarita City Council session, members voted 4-1 in favor of increasing campaign contribution limits from $360 to $1000. Part of the resolution also restricts donors from remaining anonymous. Councilman Kellar was the only member to vote against the resolution.

At one point during the discussion public members stood up and verbally argued with Councilman Ferry, resulting in one member from the audience being escorted from the premises.

The Council also voted on the long-standing problem facing the speed bumps on Benz Road. While members from the audience were split on keeping the bumps, it was clear the issue couldn't be resolved to please both sides. In the end, Council decided to leave the speed bumps, remove the turn restrictions and not hold the residents liable for the cost.

Expanded coverage of the council's final meeting before summer break will be posted later today.
