The Master's College Men's Soccer Team Wins First GSAC Championship Print E-mail

sportslocalThe Master's College men's soccer team got a gift goal off a free kick and another goal by Marlon Lindo in a 2-1 win over Biola in a matchup of NAIA top 25 teams.

With the win, The Master's College, No. 14 in the NAIA, captured the Golden State Athletic Conference championship, the first in school history.

The Master's College a 2-0 first-half lead. Biola, the No. 20 team in the NAIA, scored a goal just before halftime to cut the lead in half.

The Master's College men, winners of nine of their last 10 games, open the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday at home against Cal Baptist.

The Master's College women's team played to a 1-1 draw against Biola. Emily Bruton knocked in a rebounded shot by Sierra Goff to tie the game in the first half. The score remained tied through the second half and two overtimes.

The Master's College women start play in the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament against Pt. Loma Nazarene, the No. 17 team in the NAIA, in San Diego today.

The Master's College women's volleyball team snapped a 13-match losing streak with a three-game sweep over Hope International.
