The results of the election will decide the makeup of several governing boards, including those for the William S. Hart Union High, Sulphur Springs, and Newhall school districts, the Santa Clarita Community College District, and the Newhall Water District. Valley voters can look up their polling places and view their sample ballot here.

The elections for the Sulphur Springs and Saugus Union School Districts have been cancelled because the candidate fields consist only of incumbents running unopposed.

Residents of the unincorporated L.A. County areas of the Santa Clarita Valley will be asked to weigh in on the future status of their communities. In three separate questions, they will be asked to support or oppose the status quo, the incorporation of a new city, and annexation into the City of Santa Clarita. The ballot, which is for advisory purposes only, is constructed such that voters could support some, none, or all of the three options. Unincorporated areas include Sunset Pointe, Stevenson Ranch, Southern Oaks, Westridge, Tesoro, Castaic, and Val Verde.

More information on the races is available here. Remember to vote and be sure to check hometownstation.com on Election Night for complete results as returns come in.
