Holocaust Memorial Sparks Renewed Interest In History
KHTS looking for Holocaust survivors, others who have lived through history’s most turbulent times.
Wednesday afternoon, Assemblyman Cameron Smyth’s Field Deputy Ed Masterson went on air to recognize Diana Sevanian for her work in the State Assembly’s Holocaust Memorial Project.
Sevanian tracked down Eva and Sheldon Mars, a married couple who survived the holocaust. Sheldon and Eva told their story to local high school students, who were emotionally transported to that time, when Sheldon was at Auschwitz and Eva was in a Shanghai ghetto.
Sevanian extended a special thanks to Rabbi Morozov of Chabad of SCV for helping her in locating local Holocaust survivors for this year's Remembrance Project.

Unfortunately, a few weeks after the interview, Sheldon died.
Realizing that time is limited, KHTS would like to call upon all those who experienced the Holocaust, or some other major world event, to take part in a special on-air broadcast. The program will be uploaded to hometownstation.com as a podcast and preserved for future generations.
