A Holiday Classic Comes To The CTG

The Canyon Theatre Guild Presents, "It's a Wonderful Life."

It’s A Wonderful Life has become almost as familiar to American audiences as A Christmas Carol, and the Canyon Theatre Guild’s holiday production based on the classic Frank Capra movie is sure to help theatre-goers get into the holiday spirit.

The saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, is familiar to most of us, and the message it brings is universal in its appeal.
George Bailey seems to have a picture perfect life with his loving wife and children, and his own business. He worked hard to build the family business only to encounter a seemingly insurmountable disaster on Christmas Eve, when his Uncle Billy loses the cash they owe to the bank.

The bank’s owner, a Scrooge-esque Mr. Potter threatens to take over George’s business which drives George to the point of hopelessness. Feeling that everyone would be better off without him, George contemplates suicide.

Image He is saved at the last moment by the appearance of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody who shows George that his life is not only worth living, but It’s A Wonderful Life!

It’s A Wonderful Life opens at the Canyon Theatre Guild’s Old Town Newhall Playhouse on Friday, November28 (Thanksgiving weekend) with a wine and champagne reception at 7:00 p.m.
The show runs through December 20, with performances every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 1:00 p.m.

There will be Saturday matinees on December 13 and 20, in addition to week night performances at 7:00 p.m. on December 17, and 18.

Tickets for this heartwarming holiday treat are $12-$15 for Juniors and Seniors and $15 - $17 for adults.

The theatre is located at 24242 Main Street, Newhall.  Call the box office for reservations: (661) 799-2702.
