Hart District To Offer Drug Education For Parents
District experts to help parents identify, deal with problems.

The seminar is part of the district’s Comprehensive Alcohol
and Drug Reduction and Education (CADRE) program dealing with the issue of
drug, steroid and alcohol use and the effects on the school community and
Tuesday’s program will cover common drugs found in the local
area and their effects on the human body, how parents can assist students in
resisting peer influences regarding drug and alcohol use, and what parents
should look for when drug and alcohol use is suspected.
Families who attend the seminar also will receive
information on the CADRE voluntary random drug testing component of the program
and how to enroll in this valuable tool to help keep Hart District students off
drugs. The district currently is enrolling families to take part in the pilot
testing program which will get underway this spring.
The CADRE program was developed by Dr. Darryl Adams, Hart
District director of human resources, at the request of the district’s
Governing Board. The seminar is the first step in the vital education component
of the program, directed toward students, parents and staff.
