Hart District Bands Are State Champs
Hart and West Ranch continue grand tradition of stellar performance, ratings.

The
represented at the state championships for marching bands early in December,
with the Hart High Marching Regiment earning its seventh consecutive
championship in Division 4A and the marching band and color guard from
earning its second championship in Division 3A.

The Hart District had a total of four schools qualify to
participate in the state championships sponsored by the Southern California
School Band and Orchestra Association—an achievement in itself. SCSBOA
adjudicates more than 60 competitive field tournaments and more than 40
competitive band reviews throughout
The SCSBOA Field Championships feature performances by the 12 highest-scoring
marching bands in each of six divisions.

School
most competitive 4-A Division is unprecedented in the history of the state
championships. The Hart Marching Regiment won several tournament championship
titles on the way to the state match and its championship performance of
“Solaris” received a score of 92.6 out of a possible 100 points at the state
championship—one of the highest scores in the band’s history.

“It’s remarkable what these students have accomplished this
year,” said Band Director Anthony Bailey. “This year’s show was
challenging—musically and technically—and they rose to the occasion. I’m so
proud of each and every one of them.”

Marshall and the
The band and auxiliary units took the Sweepstakes award at the Hart Rampage
Field tournament and took first place in five competitions this season. They
were championship finalists in two competitions before earning the state
championship in Division 2A at the SCSBOA state championships.

“We are so proud of Jason and his students,” said West Ranch
Principal Bob Vincent. “The show, ‘The Bermuda Triangle,’ was amazing.”
Marching units from
