Gutzeit Gets Conservation League Endorsement
City Council candidate says business and the environment are not mutually exclusive.
Current Water Board member and Santa Clarita City Council candidate Maria Gutzeit has received an endorsement from the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. In announcing the endorsement to her supporters in a newsletter, Gutzeit wrote the following:
“I am so excited to receive the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters! Growth and traffic are such big concerns here. After working with the Nature Conservancy on critical language for the Open Space Measure, with the Bike Coalition on regional bike planning, and with the Water District on the Whittaker Bermite cleanup (which means more roads!)....this is a great acknowledgment. Business and environment are not mutually exclusive.”
“Together with planners, builders, and government officials, we can continue to preserve what's great in Santa Clarita.”
Also noted in Gutzeit’s announcement was a portion from the League’s newsletter.
"The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters....works to support those candidates running for office throughout the County of Los Angeles who are committed to preserving and protecting the environment."
"We are looking for environmental champions, and we believe that you will be a champion for the environment." - Mitchell Schwartz, President
