Gentle Barn Takes Last Dog Off Lancaster Property
Rescue groups now focusing on taking care of animals.
Good news out of Lancaster as Jay Weiner, from the Gentle Barn has announced that all animals have now been removed from poor conditions.
Last week, hundreds of farm animals and dogs had been found at a Lancaster compound in awful conditions, and rescue groups were thrust into action trying to care for, and place the animals. Aside from being un-kept, the animals were underfed.
Several sick animals have been treated and as of Friday night all dogs had either been placed in foster care or rescues.
A call for volunteers was put out by The Gentle Barn. The reply to those calls by the community in Santa Clarita and beyond was massive; “We were really able to do some good with their help,” Weiner said.
With the animals now off the property, Weiner says that the focus will be on taking care of the animals, treating them, and getting them spayed and neutered.
Many dogs will be up for adoption, and a list will be made available soon.
Several groups were involved in the rescue effort, including The Gentle Barn, Animal Acres, and A Wish For Animals.
