Gang Member Arrested For Brandishing Shotgun
Threatens mother of his child with firearm, flees scene.
A parole violator and known gang member was arrested today for making criminal threats and being in possession of a firearm.
According to Detective Mark Barretto, Matthew Carrillo was taken into custody in relation to a July 31 incident where he called a woman with whom he has a child over to his car and showed her a shotgun, threatening her if she ended their relationship. After Carrillo left the location, the woman filed a complaint with the sheriff’s department.
Early the next morning, Carrillo was stopped by deputies and fled the scene, leaving two passengers and a shotgun in his vehicle. The passengers told deputies that the gun was Carrillos.
Parole officials making a random check at his Canyon Country residence took Carrillo into custody after the suspect said detectives were looking for him. He is being held without bail at the Santa Clarita station.
