Last Sunday, local victims of October’s wildfires got a chance to let their hair down and have some family fun.

Mountasia opened their doors to survivors who lost their homes and property, treating them to bumper boats, go karts, miniature golf and video games.

The Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition picked up the tab for pizza, ice cream and drinks.

“The goal was to bring them together for a fun evening where they could bond, share their experiences and draw strength from each other,” said Diane Green with the SCV Disaster Coalition. “There was lots of hugging and happiness, and really, just a lot of fun in a relaxing environment.”

In attendance was the Tindell family, who suffered a double dose of tragedy when the Buckweed fire burned their home to the ground and seriously injured husband/father Jim.

The Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition is still assisting the families who suffered losses from October’s wildfires. Their services have now been tailored to help assist the families as they prepare to rebuild.
