Fair Oaks Ranch students help dignitaries plan an oak tree

Community members joined Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and Pardee homes President Mike McGee in dedicating Fair Oaks Park in Canyon Country Wednesday morning.

The skies may have been cloudy, but the mood was sunny among students from Fair Oaks Ranch Community School who wielded toy shovels to help dignitaries plant a commemorative oak tree. The six-acre park is the final  piece of several public and community amenities in the planned community.

The park features two children's play areas, a soccer and softball field, basketball and volleyball courts, a shade pavilion and restrooms, along with barbecues and picnic tables. It was built by Pardee Homes and turned over to Los Angeles County for maintenance and operation.
